With our unique blend of engaging storytelling, colourful characters, and interactive minigames, we’ll teach the basics of chess in a way that sparks curiosity and joy. Over the course of 2h, we’ll introduce the basic game mechanics of chess, with the help of a few exciting characters and their extraordinary quest for friends! At the end of it, every parent will receive personalised feedback on how their child’s learning experience and a growth plan so they know what they can expect if they decide to continue exploring Chess! The Jedi Chess Academy

The Jedi Chess Academy is dedicated to providing a unique approach to chess coaching. Our lessons are designed to teach through stories and develop periphery skills such as empathy, calculation, resilience, language, logic, and critical thinking. We believe in the power of chess to unlock the full potential of young minds.

Our Founder
As a screenwriter, Coach Jed has worked on some of the biggest shows from drama (Ti Tou Dao S2) to children’s edutainment (Counting with Paula s7, I-yo the Robot). As a teacher, he has taught in schools at every institutional level for over a decade. As a chess player, he is ranked in the top 2% of chess.com and is a FIDE-certified School Instructor.

All these varied experiences found their way to each other at the end of covid, when he started teaching chess through storytelling. Eventually, designing the curriculum and leading tutor training for one of Singapore’s largest chess schools. In 2024 alone, Coach Jed taught over 200 students.

In 2025, he decided to launch The Jedi Chess Academy to have the full creative liberty to create a chess syllabus that taught students to love chess, hard work, and even difficult games.
